1864 Civil War grounds scheduled for Aug 1st, 2009

Picture
The Battle of Camden Point took place on July 13, 1864 near Camden Point , USA.

During the mid-1864 Paw Paw Rebellion in north-western Missouri, detachments of Federal troops crossed the Missouri River  and occupied Platte County.  At this time a Confederate cavalry force approximately 200-300 strong under Colonel J.C. Thornton was organizing around Camden Point.

On July 13, Thornton's men held a picnic in an open pasture near the town. Detachments of the 2nd Colorado Volunteer Cavalry and 15th Kansas Cavalry ambushed Thornton's picnicking force, routing it and killing six and wounding approximately 25 Confederates, having suffered one killed and one wounded. Ammunition, weapons, and gunpowder were captured and Camden Point was burned. The fallen soldiers were buried in a mass grave in the very spot they died on July 13th, 1864.

The battle flag of the Confederate force was captured as well, and now resides in the possession of the Colorado State Historical Society. In 1871, a memorial to the Confederates killed in the engagement was erected at the Camden Point Cemetery where the Confederate slain are buried and is the oldest Confederate memorial west of the Mississippi River.

1864 Civil War grounds investigation #2 September 12th, 2009

The team Julie, Shayna, Debbe and our newest member Jesse will be revisiting our previous investigation, in this investigation the team is going without the assistance of our fellow civil war buffs Mike, Forrest and Cuffey.  The team would like to see if we can get a different response from the last investigation.  Our question we have been asking is was the presence of Mike, Forrest and Cuffey have a calming effect on the soldiers who ly beneath the mass grave.  We will also be visiting the cemetary across the orad where our lead investigator's family, grandparents, great grandparents and great great grandparents are located and see if there are any spirits lingering there as well.  Our newest member Jesse has never done an investigation and is very skeptical of this whole paranormal thing, so during his training, the team is curious to see whether the spirits will be curious about him as well as the team.

Investigation started at 8pm, the tempature outside was 76 degrees, clear skies, a bit damp and the ground dewy as the night progressed.
We broke off into groups, Debbe and Jesse and Julie and Shayna and the switch off so that Jesse had the opportunity to work with everyone on the team.
While sitting in lawn chairs in a circle, Jesse was standing to the left of Debbe, he was using a new piece of equipment and as Debbe took a few shot these images appeared next ot Investigator Jesse. These photos were taken simultaneously.

The night seems pretty quiet for the most part, we captured a few possible orbs but again we refrain for naming them as orbs and let our readers form their own theories.  We will soon post EVP's and other photos following a through check of all the evidence from the night as well as our investigation into the Camden Pointe Cemetary.

The Investigation July 31, 2009

Picture
The team consisted of Debbe, Julie, Shayna, Mike, and Forrest and Cuffy, the men were dressed in civil war attire for this period.  Equipment used Forrest on Fiddle, Cuffy on banjo and Mike singing along with the two other investigators.  Other equipments use, a candle lit lantern, 3 Cameras, Video recorder on tripod, 3 digital records, flashlights, 1 KII, 2 EMF detectors we carried light equipment due to we had to walk a ways to the site.  The time of investigation was 7:30pm to 12am.  The temperature outside was 76 to 78 degrees during light hours and temp dropped to 64 to 67 degrees, no wind, clear skies, heavy moisture and dew on grass after dark towards midnight.  We set up camp under a large oak tree said to be the main location of where the soldiers on July 13 1864 would have been before they were ambushed.
No notable EMF readings.  The graves and locations go far back into a heavy woods area.  There was also a corn field near the erect stones in honor of the 6 men who died.   Forrest, Mike and Cuffy stood near the 6 headstones and began playing and singing music appropriate for the time era.
While there were no notable EMF readings, both teams reported shadows by or near the cornfield, at one point Mike was lighting his pipe with a match and he heard the sound of the match being blown out at the same time the match went out, Kyle and Forrest confirmed this experience.  The team feels further investigation is needed to find if this cemetery has paranormal activity. While the team did catch EVP's confirming some paranormal activity, it is not enough to convince this team without proof positive it is haunted.  Team will schedule another investigation in the fall. Please see EVP's captured from the investigation as well as picture in general. There was only 1 questionable photos taken of Forrest by the old wooden step it appears a bright white blob of light misshapen which may be a possible presence trying to manifest as an orb.  It did not shown up in the following shots. So it is unknown what this object is on the photo.
